My current challenge is to read my way through the Guardian 1,000 Best Novels list. Luckily, I’ve read quite a few titles already — but I wanted the structure of a list and this was the biggest, baddest, most challenge-y I could think of. I’ll try to post numbers of my total reads so far. Of course, I keep getting distracted by other wonderful titles along the way, so look out for detours!
If you’re wondering, Livritome should be pronounced: LEE-vrit-to-me. As in, leave the books to me. Or if you like, livre = tome.
Glad you are here!!
Wow! So ambitious to go through the Guardian’s list. Good luck! I look forward to reading your reviews.
I’ve actually no idea what this challenge consists of but thanks for the link. I will inform myself. Although 1000 books is something. :O
It’s a big one! Thanks for he comment, Lola!
That’s a very BIG challenge. I’ve found people reading the 100 best novels from the New York Times but no-one comes close to tackling a 1000 reading list. How long do you think it might take you? At my current reading page I think it would take me about 18 years if I read nothing else.
Honestly, I don’t think I would live long enough to finish it, if I kept to my current pace. My problem is that I read too-many non challenge books. I’ve promised myself that the next three books will all be challenge books. I’m tackling Trainspotting now. I’m hoping that once I master the dialect in Trainspotting I can pick up the pace. Thanks for the comment!
1,000 books is certainly a challenge, Good luck! Are there any that you’ve read before or are looking forward to reading in particular?
Hi! Thanks so much for the comment! Well, some of the things I had already read…..a lot of the typical classics….Dickens, the Brontes, things like that. But shamefully, so many things I haven’t read. I finished all the E M Forster except for a Passage to India — and I’m looking forward to that very much! L.
This is a huge challenge! Well done and best of luck (we may have to here which is your favourite) 😉
1000 is too much I think :O
You are probably right since I am not making too much progress!
Its alright! I read more on International politics and hardly get time to read literature and poetry.
Hi, I nominated you for the Book Quote Challenge http://ajoobacatsblog.com/2016/02/12/book-quote-challenge-day-three-of-three/
